A Message From NYSCEEA's 2013 President...
Hello!
Here we are already at the mid-point of the college semester! The mid-semester brings quite a few things to mind – exams, the annual employment fair, recruiting on campus, the senior rush on resumes and the underclassman rush on summer jobs and internships, and so much more.
Additionally, the spring means the fall conference is getting that much closer. We are currently looking for conference workshop proposals. Perhaps you ran a workshop that was a homerun. Maybe it was an overall office goal that made the difference and got your students on base with employers. Or maybe you have a knack for social media that can really help others hit it out of the park. Whatever your talent, skill or knowledge, we are ready to listen. Send in a proposal and help us all “Hit a Grand Slam with Experiential Education.” Workshop proposal forms are right here on our website.
Perhaps you aren’t ready to present, but are ready to attend. Be sure to save the date! Our VP and Conference Chair, Megan Ackley, is busy planning our conference at the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown and opening day is October 6. It’s a beautiful location and it promises to be a great time for networking, reconnecting and learning.
Remember: your Board Members are here to serve you. Do you have an idea for an in-service? Do you want to organize a regional event? Do you know someone who would benefit from membership in NYSCEEA? Let us know!
In the meantime, swing for the fences and run hard, spring will be here before you know it!
All the best,
Kathleen
