Message
from the President.....
Welcome to the New York State Cooperative and Experiential
Education Association (NYSCEEA) webpage! I trust that you will find the
information and resources available on this site useful.
Established in
1974, NYSCEEA is a professional association dedicated to the promotion and
development of quality academic and relevant work experiences for college
students. Our membership includes representatives from educational institutions
and employers from the public and private sectors throughout New York State and
the northeastern region of the United States.
Throughout the last
several years we have seen great advances as an association. This past year we
amended our constitution and bylaws, clarifying our regions and redefining
important Board of Director positions. We had a successful conference in
Corning, New York, with insightful and motivating speakers and sessions. And
finally, we increased our membership, with over 100 current members! It was a
great year for NYSCEEA, and a great testament to the leadership provided by
Nicole Wolfrath, our current past president.
Throughout 2009 we will
continue to work on many initiatives to grow our association. These include an
increased focus on membership, the appointment of regional representatives, the
offering of regional programming, and a more structured system of reporting on
board of director activities to the membership. It is only with the great
dedication of our Board of Directors and membership that these initiatives can
be accomplished. In the coming year we will be seeking volunteers from the
membership to assist with achieving these goals. I urge our members to get
involved and keep connected to NYSCEEA.
It is a pleasure to
serve as the 2009 NYSCEEA President. I look forward to working more closely
